The Honda Civic Family: Trims, Body Styles, and More

At this point, we probably don’t have to tell you that the Civic is one of the world’s most iconic cars—in fact, it’s one of the all-time best-selling automobiles in the entire world. Basically, what we’re saying is, it’s pretty much the GOAT.

There are many reasons to love the 2025 Civic, including its wide selection of trims, body styles, and powertrains. There’s a Civic out there for everybody, so let’s go through the list and see what makes them all special.

Honda Civic Sedan

Available trims include:

• Civic Sedan LX

• Civic Sedan Sport

• Civic Sedan Sport Hybrid

• Honda Civic Sedan Sport Touring Hybrid

The Sedan version of the Civic stands out as the most affordable of the bunch, with a starting MSRP of just $24,250 as of this writing. It’s also the most popular due to its comfortable interior, excellent fuel economy, and great standard safety features.

The Civic Sedan is available in gas and hybrid powertrains. The LX and Sport get the 2.0-liter gas engine, which gets up to 36 MPG combined, while the top two trims get a two-motor hybrid system that puts out allows it to get an insane 49 combined miles per gallon.

Honda Civic Hatchback

Available trims include:

• Civic Hatchback Sport

• Civic Hatchback Sport Hybrid

• Civic Hatchback Sport Touring Hybrid

The Civic Hatchback just recently went on sale with a hybrid motor, marking the return of the Civic Hybrid after nearly a decade off the market. The gas and hybrid motors have the same performance specs and nearly identical fuel economy ratings as the Sedan body style. Their list of features is also largely the same by trim level.

One of the key differences between the Civic Sedan and Hatchback is that the Hatchback boasts more cargo space. While the passenger dimensions are the exact same between the two, the Hatchback has 24.5 cubic feet of rear storage, which is almost 10 more than the Sedan.

Honda Civic Si

If you’re looking for something with a little more pep but a price tag that’s still affordable, it’s hard to beat the Civic Si, which starts out under 30 grand.

The key feature of the Si is its 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, which is similar to the turbo-four from previous Civic models and puts out 200 horsepower and 192 pound-feet of torque. The motor is married to a standard six-speed manual with rev-match Control. A sturdier suspension and bigger brakes are also included, giving the Si its own unique character compared to the Civic Sedan.

Despite being classified as a sports car, the Si still has some impressive fuel economy, getting 27 MPG in the city and 37 on the highway. It also comes with plenty of interior features, including a 9-inch color touch screen and 10.2-inch driver info display, Bose premium stereo, Google built-in, Wi-Fi hotspot, heated sport front seats, and unique color and trim designs.

Honda Civic Type R

For those who want to get rowdy with a true Honda sports car, the Type R is the pinnacle of performance. It’s got a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that cranks out 315 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque, which, like the Si, is connected to a super fun six-speed manual with rev-match control.

Other performance-oriented features that make the Type R a bast include dual-axis front suspension, multi-link rear suspension, and adaptive dampers for improved on-track articulation, Brembo front brakes, a limited slip differential, a triple valve exhaust, and wide Michelin Pilot Sport 4 S tires.

It also comes with a decidedly driver-focused cockpit, with a revamped driver info screen and a center screen that features a datalogger that delivers dynamic feedback in real time.
